Who am I? I am myself
Hi! Nice to meet you!
This is who we are. Dave and Marieke. The photo was taken at the Recovery and Return Foundation's annual Gathering Day, which brings together those involved in the process of violence, punishment, recovery and return. This year's theme was "Right to Speak". It was an inspiring day that perfectly matched with Unknown, the book that Dave and Marieke authored.
The open discussions, the inspiring and vulnerable stories of the guest speakers, a day that was all about connection and contact and most of all about being HUMAN. Something that connects us all.
We were able to present our book and tell the story behind it. If you are inspired or want to know more about us, go to this link, there you will find our email addresses. Or (even beter) order the e-book for $7.77 or the paperback for $23.20. And then contact us with your questions or feedback. We are eager to hear the responses and reactions. And will be happy to discuss them with you.
A book with a message, that is what we have created. A book that you cannot put down, but read in one sitting. Because it touches you. Whether you have been in prison or not. All worlds come together in this book. Because people all follow their own unique paths in life. Sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously, but mostly Unknown.
The common thread is the diary Dave wrote in prison in Vught, the Netherlands. This is a book that makes you think and reflect, not only because it describes the way to prison and in jail But in particular the way after, how to stay out of prison and what imprisonment is actually created in everyday life.
Highly recommended!
One reader wrote the following about it:
"I very much see the worth in the free-style writing of Dave's diary. Writing can be revealing as it helps us discover who we are. I also see the worth of writing as cathartic and healing as it can provide psychological relief. Dave accomplished all this in his writing in an absolutely honest and authentic voice".
